H&C

After a few years in practice and answering the same questions for moms and dads over and over, I have often lamented that I wish there was a way to get information out to the masses. I have wanted a place where I could send people to help them feel as if I was holding their hand, helping them walk into and through this new health journey.

You may not know me, and like you- I wouldn’t just trust information from a random person. So, allow me to give you some background. I grew up overseas, a child of missionary parents who moved a lot. Consequently, I speak French and Spanish fluently and I love to travel and learn about other cultures. I moved back to Texas in the middle of high school, and was planning on going to nursing school. However, I praise God that He is in control of my life and had other plans for my future.

After getting acceptance letters into several nursing schools, I started dating my now husband, who was studying to be a chiropractor. His discussions about chiropractic intrigued me because what I thought of “chiropractic” was not the “chiropractic” I saw Jim Bob live out. And, as I researched it and prayed about it, I decided I needed to change my path and go to Parker College of Chiropractic.

As graduate school often does, Parker College changed a lot of paradigms for me. Pregnancy and pediatrics have always been a huge passion of mine, and I knew this was the population I wanted to work with. While at Parker, I started my post graduate studies to specialize in pregnancy/pediatrics. And, I was also the President of the Pediatric Club for a couple of years. In my last year of school, I was certified as a labor doula and childbirth educator and attended my first (of many) births.

Jim Bob and I were married at the end of my first year of chiropractic school. And, when I was halfway through school and he had graduated, we opened up our family chiropractic office- Lifetime Family Wellness Center. After two years in practice, I began midwifery training, and we partnered to open the only birthing center in our county. Then, our lives drastically changed- for the better- in October of 2008 when we had our first born son, Harper.

Harper is what occupies the majority of my time these days, and I love it! But, I am blessed to be able to still help catch babies and encourage moms as they birth at home and at the birthing center or hospitals. My home waterbirth profoundly affected who I am today- as a Christian, wife, mother, doctor, midwife and woman. Pregnancy and normal birth is my passion; and, I feel so blessed and honored that moms and dads allow me to serve them during such an intimate time in their lives.

As a family, we are passionate about our personal relationship with Christ and strive to live in a way that honors Him. We attend Gateway Church is Southlake, and Jim Bob and I lead a small group for married couples and I lead a Bible study for moms of young children. We are passionate about raising many godly children and building a close-knit community. We have fun pursuing a healthier lifestyle on a daily basis, and enjoy leading others into this natural lifestyle.
