Day 1: Breakfast

I have already had a lot of questions about what is needed for the program and cost.  I will get into details about that soon.  I want to stay on track, and keep you posted on what and how I am doing.  The rainy weather, although I love it, is not helpful for a sleep deprived mom who craves Starbucks Chai Tea Lattes.  But, my sweet hubby started our day off with smoothies for breakfast.  As soon as the smoothie hit my mouth, the coffee shop craving disappeared.  He did a great job making them!  I usually add greens when I am making the smoothies, it’s a great way to get in extra veggies (and I promise you can’t taste it).  I know the greens weren’t added by him this morning because they will turn your drink green.  Experiment with it next time you have a shake- I throw in a handful of fresh spinach leaves normally.

On the program, you use a powder in your shakes called “SP Complete”.  You can have 2-3 shakes a day.  In the cooler weather, I usually don’t crave them as much as in the summer.  I try to do at least one a day, and it usually ends up being my breakfast.  Also, during this part of the cleanse, you take 2 supplements- Gastro-Fiber and SP Cleanse.  However, when pregnant or nursing you omit the Cleanse product.  So JB is taking 7 cleanse pills 3 times a day, and I am taking none.  We are both doing our fish oil and 3 Gastro-Fiber 3 times a day.  I am increasing my water intake too.  Water will help ward off cleansing headaches and help the detox to happen faster.

Here is what our morning regimen looked like before we downed it:

And my pill pile was smaller than JB’s due to the fact I am feeding Harper.  Off to plan lunch!

So, you should tell me more about this. I’ve read “In Defense of Food” by the same author and loved it. I also love smoothies- I usually make them for breakfast a few times a week, so I might be able to do this. Hope it goes well for you! Love you and miss you.
